The Corporate world vs the believer.
Facing the realities of a corrupt system.
Working in a secular atmosphere is not so simple as a believer, but it is achievable. You will be called “proud,” “selfish,” “strange,” “over-doing,” etc. if you stand out from the majority.
A spiritual person working in this world will always be someone that coworkers will hesitate to invite to an occasion.
It has both advantages and drawbacks. It’s amazing because in their eyes my living ensembles a true believer. However, not the best for fostering relationships with my coworkers.
I once heard someone say, “Praise, you take life too seriously.”
I understood where she was coming from. Having a disciplined life and living Christ consciously will make you seem all work and no fun. As Christians, I like to believe that we can maintain a healthy balance and have fun without compromising our Christian beliefs.
I was listening to a podcast last year and the anchor made mention some battles that believers in the business world have that are relatable. One of her audiences posed a question “I am a Christain, I run a business. Is it okay to post a picture of my business using circular music?”
Phew! It is tough one.
I will say this in response to the question, let the Holy Spirit rule you in business. In my business, I have heard “circular” trendy music that have boosted the visibility of such customer’s products. I have likewise used them.
However, I remember this once, I attempted using a peculiar one, and I felt the restraint of the HolySpirit. No one needed to tell me that this was against everything I and business stood for.
I cannot violate my Christian beliefs in order to increase sales or, in this case, the visibility of my product or page.
Also, God owns a 20% stake in my business. Whatever doesn’t sit right with my business partner, shouldn’t with me. I hold esteem God’s principle in my doings.
So, while I cannot give a Yes or No to this question. I’m justified with the fact that whatever will cause me to compromise my faith is clearly what I shouldn’t be doing.
I will end it there, because this subject matter is tricky.
I’m open to hearing your response to the posed question.
