No condemnation here
Self-blame after a failure
In the past 9 months, I’ve faced over 30 rejections, each one hitting harder than the last. It’s been a relentless barrage of setbacks, leaving me feeling like I’m drowning in failure. I’ve questioned everything — my abilities, my skills, even my faith. It’s like my life is spinning out of control, and every time I reach for my dreams, they slip further away.
I’ve pushed myself to the limit, ignoring the exhaustion and the doubts gnawing at me from within. It’s been a roller coaster of self-blame and despair.
During one of my many episodes of crying out to the Lord, reminding Him of all the prophecies over me, the Lord said in a clear and loud voice.
Condemnation is not from me!
And suddenly, everything clicked into place. The sadness, the disappointment, the self-condemnation — they weren’t from God. They were lies, feeding on my spirit and robbing me of my joy.
I realized then that I had been fighting the wrong battle. The devil’s deception had clouded my vision, but no more. I found solace in the words of scripture, knowing that there is no condemnation for those who believe in Christ Jesus.
Now, when things go awry or another rejection comes my way, I hold on to the truth. God hasn’t forgotten me. His plans are greater than mine, and His will shall prevail. I choose patience, I choose perseverance, and above all, I choose to trust in Him.
To anyone struggling with self-blame and despair, know this: it’s not from God. He will never condemn you. So, rebuke those negative thoughts, and instead, turn to Him for strength and guidance.
If you’re reading this, remember, there’s always hope. And if you need advice or a listening ear, feel free to reach out. We’re all on this journey together.
Therefore, there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as their personal Lord and Saviour].
For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has set you free from the law of sin and death.
For what the Law could not do [that is, overcome sin and remove its penalty, its power] being weakened by the flesh [man’s nature without the Holy Spirit], God did: He sent His own Son in the likeness of sinful man as an offering for sin. And He condemned sin in the flesh [subdued it and overcame it in the person of His own Son]
