Am I mad for trusting God this much?

For me, this year’s mantra has been simple yet intense: God is Enough. I’ve probably said it in church a thousand times before, but it never really clicked as my reality until 2024.
It all started in October 2023 when I began to feel an undeniable nudge — God was telling me it was time to leave my job. To step into the next level, He said. But here’s the catch: there wasn’t another job waiting for me. No safety net. Nothing! Who, in today’s Nigerian economy, resigns from a well-paying job without a backup plan? It felt absurd.
I convinced myself it was the devil trying to play tricks on me. So, I resisted. I ignored the prompting, reasoning that it couldn’t possibly be God. But as I pushed back, the message only grew louder and clearer — through prayer, through sermons, and even through random people who unknowingly became God’s voice of instruction to me.
One resounding message kept echoing: “I am sufficient for you.”
Of course, I had questions. How would I survive? What would people think? How would I support the people depending on me? It felt unreal. But God kept assuring me that He would be my sufficiency — and He truly was.
Before 2024, my company, Digital Finance Hub, was just getting by. But this year? It was as if a switch flipped. I surpassed every goal I had for the business. I reached international audiences, consulted with top executives, and worked with business leaders I once only dreamed of meeting. My schedule became so packed with meetings — both virtual and physical — that I was overwhelmed at times.
But that was just the beginning.
In the last quarter of the year, God laid another instruction on my heart: to organize a Christmas outreach for orphans. The plan was to share the gospel, provide meals, and gift 100 children their Bibles. It sounded wonderful, but reality hit hard a week into planning. The outreach account could barely afford 40 Bibles, let alone 100, plus food, transportation, and other expenses.
I felt like a fraud. Did God really tell me to do this? How could I claim to be following His lead when it seemed like there wasn’t enough support to pull it off?
But instead of giving in to doubt, I turned to God and reminded Him of His promise. Exodus 23:25–26 became my anchor:
“Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span.”
And let me tell you — God showed up.
Not only did we meet our budget, but we doubled it! We experienced unexplainable, unmerited favour. The outreach was a huge success, and I’ve shared the testimony with anyone willing to listen. It was a reminder that when God gives a vision, He also provides the provision.
I’m sharing these stories because as we approach 2025, I want to encourage you to anchor yourself in God’s word. While you’re setting your goals for the year, take the time to find scriptures that align with your vision. Write them down. Keep them close. Profess them over your life.
I remember a time when my health was under attack. I chose five scriptures, wrote them out, and pasted them on my wardrobe. Every day, I repeated those words until healing manifested in my body. You can do the same for every area of your life — your finances, your family, your relationships.
As we step into a new year, let’s remember: God is enough. Whatever challenges or opportunities come your way, hold on to His promises and trust that He will see you through.
Here’s to a faith-filled, purpose-driven 2025.
Trust in and rely confidently on the LORD with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way]. — Proverbs 3:5–6 [AMP]
